Many construction companies, especially smaller businesses, opt to rent their construction equipment instead of outright buying it. This is especially common for heavy construction machinery use, which is often only required for specific jobs, making actual ownership of the machine unnecessary.
Renting heavy construction equipment involves a short-term agreement, allowing the renter use of the equipment for a given length of time. The time allotted can range between rental companies, but averages between daily, to monthly rentals.
Construction companies that rent their equipment gain the added benefit of not having to carry out the long-term maintenance necessary for running the machines. However, the machine must still be maintained and kept in at least reasonable condition for the duration of the rental. If any minor damages happen to occur during the rental period, it will have to be covered either monetarily, or by repairing the damage done manually.
